Thousands of people participated in the March for Jesus in Bogota, Colombia with the slogan 'With Jesus Christ Colombia in peace'. Organized jointly by the Colombian Evangelical Confederation (CEDECOL) and the Catholic Church, the event mobilized Christians to pray to God for the nation.
The participants gathered in the Plaza Bolivar, very close to the seat of government, to cry out and pray for the political situation of the country, while prayers were also offered for the delicate situation in Venezuela.
Pastor Lyda Arias, president of CEDECOL, led the crowd in a prayer and during her speech made a special call to women to be wise as "co-heirs of the grace of life" (1 Peter 3).

The walk had the character of a national mobilization, as similar events were reported in other important cities across the country. Before the march, the organizers highlighted that they would recite the first verse of the national anthem that says: "the whole of humanity, groaning in chains, understands the words of the one who died on the cross" – a statement that every Colombian makes as he or she put their hand on their chest and sings the national song.
"The mobilization, inspired by peaceful movements at international level, aims to gather Colombians in a joint prayer for the welfare and progress of the country, regardless of religious beliefs or political purposes," announced the Caracol Network days ago.
The network reported through the TV program Noticias Caracol that "from the Plaza Mayor in front of the Primatial Cathedral" the "mobilization is massive" where "thousands of people arrived and left at approximately 12:15 p.m. from the National Park".
"What they have told us," reported journalist David Molina from Bogota, "is that they are looking for a concrete space for peace to become a reality here, in Colombia. They affirm that they are not marching for any political interest. Nor any other interest other than to promote the call of Jesus Christ."
Reporting from Bucaramanga, journalist Nataly Ayala pointed out that it was "a mobilization that does not distinguish religion". She also stated that the Evangelical and Catholic churches "indicated that they were united for the same purpose: the peace of Colombia" while images could be seen from different points of that city.
Ayala also informed that "they are asking for an end to the war that is taking place in some regions of Colombia and for peace with the armed groups".
Reporter Paula Bernal, from Manizales, said that the march passed through "one of the main avenues of the city, Santander Avenue". She also highlighted that the march has "the purpose of exalting Jesus, the hope of the nation and to free Colombia from spiritual oppression".
Pastor Hugo Diaz, president of the March for Jesus Venezuela, was present in Colombia from Caracas with his wife Mariela. They actively participated in the event where freedom and peace were also proclaimed for the sister nation that shares the same colors in its national emblem.
"We just finished the March for Jesus Colombia and it was an incredible time" Diaz wrote in a post on his Instagram account, where he announced, "so Venezuela we are preparing for October 12 to march for Jesus Christ and all of Ibero-America will know this year that Jesus Christ is Lord".
"God is turning Ibero-America into a revival network for the nations and we witnessed that today from Colombia, thousands and thousands of people worshiping and proclaiming a land for Christ!" stated Diaz.
