Christian Daily International (CDI) won second place in the Evangelical Press Association’s 2024 “Best in Class” awards. The recognition comes only ten months after the global news publication launched in English in December 2023, with the Spanish edition Diario Cristiano following in March 2024.

“The single-entry Best in Class contest judges the design and editorial content of the entire publication. Entries are judged by two judges in each level/category with scores averaged to determine the winners,” the EPA explains about the annual award.

In their evaluation, the judges highlighted the “very good design” of the site describing it as “clean, simple, clear, and professional.” They also praised the quality of the news writing, with one judge saying, “I found the articles to be balanced, thoughtful, and well-written.”

Commenting on the award, CDI International Director Gordon Showell-Rogers said: “We’re very grateful for this significant recognition of the great work of our wonderful team of editors, journalists and designers.”

CDI currently has editors and reporters in Africa, Asia, Europe, Latin America, Oceania and the United States, with more expected to be added in the future. The international team allows CDI to provide biblical, factual and personal news, stories and perspectives from every region on issues that are relevant to the global Church today.

“The journey of the last 10 months has been exciting. We still have plenty of dreams for further growth and improvement,” Showell-Rogers said, and expressed his gratitude to the many readers who have engaged with CDI.

“Thank you to all those who have affirmed the value of all that we’re seeking to do: please continue to let us know how our coverage is helpful – and how we can improve,” he said.

CDI has been a member of the Evangelical Press Association since January 2, 2024.
